Steve began his career in the building industry in 2000 when he started his carpentry apprenticeship. Originally, Steve was drawn to the design side of things and enrolled in a drafting course, but after six months of sitting in an office, he realised he preferred a more hands-on approach. This led him to pursue carpentry, where he could combine his love for design with the satisfaction of physically bringing those designs to life.
With over 22 years of experience, Steve’s passion lies in delivering premium finishes while ensuring that every client has a transparent and enjoyable experience. His favourite part of the build process is seeing the project get “out of the ground” – when the frames go up and the structure begins to take shape. He also finds immense satisfaction in solving design challenges, particularly during renovations, and, of course, in the moment when the client sees their vision come to life.
What sets Ardour apart, according to Steve, is the genuine care the team shows for every client’s needs. Communication is key, and from the planning stages through to completion, Steve ensures that every detail is executed to the highest standard, with no corners cut.
When he’s not working on projects, Steve enjoys spending time with his family – his wife, and their two daughters, who keep him busy with sports and playtime. He also enjoys golf, trail running, camping, bushwalking, and beach days.
